FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Tapestry Memory Care training goes beyond the normal community standards and includes role playing, creative problem solution, conflict management, and empathy.

It’s all about the people. We have assembled a wonderful team of caring people, committed to the concept of Person Centered Care.

Person Centered Care simply means putting the resident at the center of the decision making process. Some people think that concept doesn’t apply in memory care, but the opposite is actually true. Person Centered Care is more critical in this program. A person dealing with memory care may feel like they are losing control of their life. As much as we can safely do, we put them back in charge of their lives. It’s simply about respect and dignity.

Yes. Together with the resident, family, physician, and staff; we will work with you to customize a personalized care plan. Personal care, nursing, meals and life enrichment are all tailored to fit each resident’s unique wants and needs. It’s all about respect for the individual. That’s what makes Tapestry’s approach a success. We don’t try to fit the resident into our program; we tailor the program to fit the individual.

We offer a variety of targeted one-to-one and small group activities to ensure that residents remain active and engaged. The disease does not define the person at Tapestry. Our philosophy is that a lady who enjoyed gardening or cooking all of her life still needs to do those things. We may be there for a little help and guidance, but she continues to enjoy those things.

We plan life enrichment activities in response to the needs and wants of the resident population rather than some artificial business schedule.

Music and Memory is our nationally accredited music therapy program. The benefits of music therapy for folks living with a memory related diagnosis are well documented. For more information on this program go to www.musicandmemory.org

Nutrition is often overlooked and can lead to so many related health issues for people with cognitive impairment. Our consulting dietician works with the chef to creatively meet the unique needs of this population.

Absolutely, we want family members to be active and involved in the resident’s life.

Our Memory Care community is comprised of three separate neighborhoods. Each neighborhood is a home designed around a kitchen and living room.

Our job is to balance the need for safety and security with the desire for personal freedom. Each Memory Care neighborhood is secure and has staff onsite. In addition, advanced technology is used to prevent unauthorized entry in or out of the neighborhood.

The apartments are large private suites with private bathroom and shower. They are typically furnished with the resident’s personal furnishings but we can arrange for furniture. Click here to see our floor plans.
